Gingerbread Everywhere

Happy New Year!! The girls and I made a gingerbread house yesterday. I was a little worried about how it would turn out because I forgot to cut the roof pieces before I cooked it. Then as I was trying to take the pieces out of the pan, three of them broke apart. I just tried to use the icing to glue them back together. We had trouble with the icing last year, but I was glad to see that the icing did a lot better this year. Here are some pictures of our house decorating:

I kept thinking the house would fall down at any moment, but it was actually still standing this morning. Emily and Eliana each had part of the roof for dessert at lunch. I also took some pictures of the girls in their new gingerbread outfits from Gymboree, which I think I mentioned my new obsession on a previous post:

Sarah also has the one in the picture at the top of this blog. She has socks that match with pink ruffles and gingerbread girls. The girls each have a gingerbread girl pony tail holder, gingerbread house barrettes, and gingerbread girl barrettes. They were all out of the socks for the older girls. I'm going to see if I can convince Emily to ask for a complete Gymboree outfit for her birthday. :) Maybe I'll be able to find a horse outfit on there...she'd probably go for it then. I'd better see what's on sale there first...I still don't want to pay full price, even if it is for her birthday.

  1. Great House!! I tried to build one with Michael last year that was from a box and it kept falling apart....didn't really matter much since we just ended up eating it an hour later. Cute outfits too! I had bought matching outfits from Gymboree for Naya and Diara when Naya visited in October, but we ended up taking them back because they weren't on sale and they were EXPENSIVE! The clothes there are too cute though.

  2. Those are adorable outfits! And good job with the house! Maybe next year they can show Maddie how to put one together *wink, wink* :)
