Florida Fun, Evening 1

After a drive of almost 11 hours, we arrived in Florida yesterday evening. As soon as we brought our things into the rental house, we decided to check out the beach. Eliana and Sarah had never seen the beach before. Emily had seen a cove in the ocean last week on her trip with Andy, but Andy said the cove didn't really count.

My plan was to just have a walk along the water, maybe put our feet in the surf, nothing too messy. That plan backfired as soon as the girls saw the water. They took off running into the waves. Sarah reached down and starting splashing water up into the air. Then she decided to take off her shoes which entailed sitting in the surf, getting sand all over the back of her shorts. Emily and Eliana decided to start building a sand castle and collecting shells in their buckets. We saw several dolphins further out in the water. We stayed out until the sun was almost down and the mosquitoes started biting.

The outdoor shower here came in handy for getting the sand off before coming back into the house. After showers/baths, we all went to bed.
