Luke's 6 Month Pictures

We took Luke to get his 6 month pictures today. I was worried that he would cry like last time, but he did great! Here are some of my favorites:

Horse Camp -- Guest Blogger, Emily

Yesterday, I [Emily] went to a 5-hour horse camp!!! The camp is called Kimberlin Farms. They have about 36 horses, 2 rabbits, 9 mini ponies, 7 cats, and 12 dogs. The first thing we did was to get 3 horses and 2 minis in from the pastures. I gave my horse treat to this beautiful horse, but a mini saw the treat and followed me around trying to get one too [Unfortunately, I only had one]!

After that, we talked about stall cleaning. The instructer then gave each of us a stall to muck out [clean]. We then each groomed our own horse. I got a mini named Pedro. By now, it was lunchtime. We ate lunch in a small building surrounded by dogs. Next, we played a tough bareback games with teams of 2. Then we rode double bareback. I was in front, but in a very uncomfortable spot- the horse's withers. Then we fingerpainted the horses!! That was pretty fun, but we didn't have a lot of paint. Next we gave the horses a bath [to get the paint out!]. While they dried, we did a fun craft.

After that, we were going to play "Beauty Shop" with the horses [another girl and I were going to braid flowers into the horse's tail and mane], but Mom came and I didn't want to keep everyone waiting on me. I had an awesome time!!

Learning To Crawl

Luke is 6 months old today! Time is just going by way too fast. I took this video of him today:

Picture Firsts

For the last week or so Sarah has been asking to have her hair in braids. Her hair is so fine that it's very hard for me to part it unless it's wet. I usually wash her hair at night so it's dry by morning and I'm usually in a rush trying to get everyone ready so I just pull her hair back on top with a bow. A couple of days ago, I washed her hair in the morning and had time to put it into braids. She was happy about it.



Also, we went to Shelby Farms recently. They have a new playground that is HUGE and lots of fun. Luke got to try a swing for the first time on his sisters' laps.

Tea Party Fun

Yesterday, Emily and Eliana invited a couple of girls over for a tea party. They helped me get everything ready. The menu consisted of Puff Pastry Cheese, Ham, and Broccoli Swirls along with Bagel Bites, a fruit salad, mini chocolate cakes, and sugar cookies. For drinks, we served sweet tea, milk, and milk with chocolate Ovaltine. The girls used our miniature teapot, creamer, sugar bowl, cups, and plates. We had to use our regular plates for the serving plates and cake plates. The small plates weren't big enough to hold everything, but the girls liked refilling their plates and their cups themselves. Emily made the flower centerpiece out of Kleenex.

What's So Funny?

I got this video of Luke yesterday. The quality is not great because I used my phone, but I don't usually get to capture video of him laughing.  Eliana was making him laugh while we were waiting out in the car. She was excited because it is the first time he has laughed at her.

Back From Camp

Eliana went to Camp Lake Stephens this past Monday. She was so excited to go! She kept asking us if it was time to drive down there. When we got there, she was happy to be getting a top bunk since Emily said that was the best one to have. There were 6 girls, including her, in her cabin with one counselor. We got her bed made, her bath towel hung up, and her caboodle put away in the bathroom. Then we headed home.

That night and the next day, a few pictures were posted with her in them. She was smiling in them so I figured that she must be having fun. We picked her up yesterday. It was raining with wind gusts so that the temperature was only 67 degrees. She had a really great time and told us about it on the way home. She started getting teary-eyed talking about it because she didn't want to leave. One of her favorite things was eating spaghetti. The sauce is not one of her favorite things, but I always make her eat some with her spaghetti. The first night they had spaghetti for supper and she got to eat spaghetti without any sauce, just straight noodles. She also talked about how much fun it was to play tug-of-war against the counselors. She definitely wants to go back next year!
